Analyst warns U.S. midterm elections could spark ‘Bitcoin dump’

Bitcoin (BTC) could face renewed selling pressure following the 2026 U.S. midterm elections, according to crypto analyst Ali Martinez, who pointed to historical price declines following previous midterm votes. With the U.S. midterm elections scheduled for November 3, Martinez highlighted in a post on X that Bitcoin declined 72%, 65%, 52%, and 27% following the 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022 elections. While the historical pattern does not establish that elections caused those declines, Martinez nonetheless said that we are dealing with a trend worth monitoring as the 2026 election approaches. “Following the 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022 elections, BTC fell 72%, 65%, 52%, and 27%, respectively. That does not prove elections caused the declines, but the pattern is worth watching ahead of November 3, 2026,” Martinez wrote. 2/5 The US midterm elections are just over a month away and $BTC historical price action after prior midterms is hard to ignore. Paul brothers are investing heavy into gambling, AI, drones, and defense

Infamous entertainers Logan and Jake Paul, who are now making PR stops at the Treasury and the Department of War, are also heavily invested in gambling, AI, drones, and defense contracts, according to the website for their venture capital fund, Anti Fund. Their portfolio includes Anduril, OpenAI, SpaceX, Kela Technologies, Polymarket, and Flock, which calls into question why they were invited to the Treasury and spoke in front of troops at the Pentagon. Investments keep the brothers quiet While fellow YouTubers and YouTube channels such as Benn Jordan, Donut, oompaville, and TommyG have criticized Flock and exposed issues with its surveillance cameras, Jake and Logan — who hosts a weekly podcast called Impaulsive with nearly 5 million subscribers — have remained silent about the company and its disturbing practices. Anti Fund also invested in Kela Technologies, an Israeli defense contractor that “integrates commercial and military systems.” This could...

Manifund hires Caroline Ellison while fighting FTX over $1.5M

Manifund, a charity founded by Austin Chen that focuses on AI and effective altruism causes, has created quite the stir by admitting to hiring disgraced CEO of Alameda Research, Caroline Ellison. While the controversy is fascinating, the history behind it is detailed, lengthy, and bizarre. In March of 2022 Chen’s organization, then called Manifold Markets, applied for $500,000 in funding from the FTX Future Fund, the philanthropic arm of FTX, to setup Manifold For Charity (now known as Manifund). Most notably, two important EA figures helped run the Future Fund, and therefore helped approve Chen’s grant application: William MacAskill and Leopold Aschenbrenner. Six months later, FTX and Alameda Research were declaring bankruptcy and its CEOs, Sam Bankman-Fried and Caroline Ellison, were being ushered to jail. A group of 21 banks and financial firms including Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citigroup and Goldman Sachs are preparing to launch a dollar stablecoin for business payments across borders. The firms say they will form a new company in the second half of 2026 and aim to have the token live in the first half of 2027, reports the Wall Street Journal. Stablecoin are digital tokens meant to stay pegged to a currency, in this case the U.S. dollar. The first customers are meant to be companies sending money overseas.
